Black bee with yellow face -
Melissodes bimaculata
Pleasant Prairie, Kenosha County, Wisconsin, USA
Size: approx 1.5cm
About 10 of these bees were visiting a small lavendar patch. This bee stayed on this grass in an inverted position for minimum of 10 minutes.

This is a male of Melissodes bimaculata (or bimaculatus, I can never get that "gender" thing down....).
