Possibly - Family Sarcophagidae - Flesh Fly

Possibly - Family Sarcophagidae - Flesh Fly
Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
July 22, 2008
Size: 175 to 200 mm
The top side of the fly had white stripes similar to other images of flesh flies; however, at noon, the image was just too overexposed. There were other much smaller similar flies.
Look at the feet! It looks like it is walking or holding on with balls of "spit"!

Yipes, stripes!
Do you know if there were three black stripes? Also, FYI, sometimes a "bad" photo can bring a good ID.

Stripes at noon
This fly had a white top to its thorax with "some" black stripes. It was the first time I have seen it in my yard. Not there tonight - will try to see if it is around at noon tomorrow. Am attaching the "bad" photo, but only "just" shows a bit of white.
Thanks for getting back to me!

Didn't seem to help.
Wish someone else would comment, but I think this mystery will go unsolved. It's too often the case with rather ordinary flies like this one. Sorry!

Thanks - will keep tracking!
Thanks Ron,
I will try to track the fly down for some better shots. I wish I had taken more but the sun was glaring directly on the light grey garbage can. Also, the fly was less keen at posing and more interested in garbage day!
