Lady beetle ? - Paranaemia vittigera

Lady beetle ? - Paranaemia vittigera
Livermore, Alameda County, California, USA
July 22, 2008
Size: 1/4"
This is the first time that I have come across one of these striped fellows . It has a ladybug face and body type . It was busily eating on a spent Cat-tail water reed seed head . I found it along a creek busy with life , but I only saw 1 . I will continue looking tomorrow for more . Thanks for any comments , sincerely Beth

Check out
Striped lady beetle, Paranaemia vittigera. Think I spelled it right. Data page shows this to be a west coast species.
