Moved from Callibaetis.

Not Callibaetis!
It's been a rather circuitous route to this species ID, Stephen. I'm now convinced that this is Cloeon dipterum. You can follow the trail that led up to this ID here.

Another Baetid identified to species...
so, that's not impossible after all ;-) Thanks for sorting this out, Lloyd and John.
I should have looked closer. I didn't realize this individual was dipterous!

Yeah...
I didn't realize that either. The hindwings are so small on many baetids that they are often lost in confusion near the base of the wing in photos, and dipterous species are possibilities even in a few baetid genera where some species have hindwings. I wasn't sure of that character in John's male subimago photo, so the chain of events was partly luck. Who would have thought that confirmation would come from European photos? :)

Thanks Lloyd
Callibaetis was indeed my first thought, but I wanted to be certain before moving it.

Looks like...
a female Callibaetis imago. Many, but not all Callibaetis retain speckled or mottled markings on the forewing, especially along the leading edge. Size, the sparse cross-veins, and the speckled body suggest this genus of Baetidae.
