I think this is a horse fly because it is so big . I found it on a reed by the creek laying eggs . It was hard to get a good shot as it was breezy . I have not seen such a big fly in a long time , so I guess there is not that many of them around . I only got one photo , then she was done laying her eggs and flew away .
