This unusual moth visited today - Eudryas grata
Coos County, New Hampshire, USA
July 24, 2008
Size: about an inch and a half
Shot this photo on 7/24/08 -- 11:00 am, rainy day, he flew in the porch to get out of the rain -- :) -- so gorgeous and unusual.
About an inch or so. What is it?

I agree...
it is a "Beautiful Wood-Nymph (Eudryas grata)". You are also the first to report it in New Hampshire, be sure to move it to the guide so it will be added to the log.

Beautiful Wood Nymph
Hmmmmmm. First in New Hampshire? My husband has lived up here all his life and he never saw one before. Thanks So much.

Wood Nymph Moth
Thanks so much. I think it might be unusual that it is here. Our summers and winters have been much warmer the past three years. Again, thank you.

Pam :)
