Small Hopper #2 ? - Prosapia bicincta

Small Hopper #2 ? - Prosapia bicincta
Elysburg, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 24, 2008
Looks similar in construction to my small hopper #1 but doesn't have the banding.

We seem to remember reading a discussion
of the fact that one needs to see the underside to tell an unmarked Prosapia bicincta from a regular dark Prosapia ignipectus.

Prosapia bicincta
Not likely to be P. ignipectus this far south.

Thanks
for the ID.

Prosapia ingnipectus
On second thought, there are indeed some records from PA, and the leg joints are certainly as brightly colored as in P. ignipectus. Watch for more, and try to shoot their underside next time.
