Leafhopper nymph
Ken Lockwood Gorge, Lebanon township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, USA
July 26, 2008
I think this is a leafhopper nymph, perhaps of the genus Aphrodes? The leaf it is on is from a Thin-leaved Sunflower (Helianthus decapetalus).

Ponana
Probably P. pectoralis. The way it lowers its head and raises its "tail" is characteristic of Gyponini (Gyponana, Ponana and kin).
