It pays to have eight legs... - Proctacanthus
Antelope Island, Davis County, Utah, USA
July 27, 2008
Just wanted to share these. This large glob fell from the sky into the grasses about six feet from me. I took a quick check through binoculars and saw it was a bedraggled robber fly and prey. Thus, the first photo.

Moved
Moved from Robber Flies.

Looks
Like a female Proctacanthus species of robber. In Utah, it could be a Stenopogon I suppose. Libellulid dragon. Can't quite tell which one. Nice event.

Thank you.
Thanks, Herschel.
