Gnophaela sp - Police Car Moth? - Gnophaela vermiculata

Gnophaela sp - Police Car Moth? - Gnophaela vermiculata
Green Mountain Falls, El Paso County, Colorado, USA
July 28, 2008
Size: ~1 1/2 in wingspan
These moths were everywhere along the trail today. It looks like the Police Car Moth to me, but the other Gnophaela look pretty similar.

Moved
Butterfliesandmoths.org lists G. vermiculata as one of only 2 species of Gnophaela in my area and the other looks nothing like this, so I'm moving it to species.
