Trox Beetle on Hairy Something -
Trox
Near Ruraldale, Upshur County, West Virginia, USA

Size: 7.66 mm
This Trox was on some object made of mammal fur, probably Coyote scat or something like that. What sculpted elytra!

Nice photo
Not sure which species, but definitely Trox. The sculpturing on the elytra are due to clumps of setae that cluster around actual tubercules. This guy is pretty encrusted with the whatever it is its in.
