Tuberculate Trox - Omorgus scabrosus

Tuberculate Trox - Omorgus scabrosus
North of Scottsville, Albemarle County, Virginia, USA
Reaching way back to the Spring of 1985, my first Trox picture. Size not recorded, unfortunately. The beetle showed up at lights. I like the big round tubercules.

Omorgus scabrosus
This is really looks like Omorgus scabrosus to me.

Omorgus?
The overall 'gestalt' suggests Omorgus rather than Trox. Can you put this back in ID Request and see what Phil Harpootlian has to say?

Will do
Will do, Eric. Too bad the picture is not of high enough quality to zoom in on the scutellum.

I was thinking Omorgus was more western, but reading up just now it sounds like a number of species live in the East, although most or all have a range that extends all the way to Texas, Colorado, or Arizona.
