Seven-spotted Lady Beetle - Coccinella septempunctata

Seven-spotted Lady Beetle - Coccinella septempunctata
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
June 17, 2005

Bad ladybug...:-)
Coccinella septempunctata is a European import suspected of driving its native counterpart, C. novemnotata, to near elimination, and possibly having an adverse impact on other native Coccinella species. It would be interesting to see if anyone can find an example of the nine-spotted lady beetle and post an image and data here.

Oh, no!
When I catch one this summer, I will count the spots and let you know.
If you find a few, raise them in captivity till their populations grow and can grow to normal levels once again and be kept that way! Just like the California Condor! Whoo! Hooo!

Maybe
there is. This photo is a possible. I know I've been looking, but haven't found one yet.
