Hairy little brown beetle

Hairy little brown beetle
Picture Rocks, NW of Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
July 29, 2008
Size: 6 mm

Moved
Moved from Beetles.

Alleculinae
I would guess Alleculinae. I would definitely be interested in examining this one closer if you still have it.

I don't think
I collected it, but they were very common at the blacklight at my house, so I'll probably get them again next year.

Lagriinae, i suppose
*

Maybe
Try Ptilodactylidae, they have a hairy look like that and the antennae are strongly serrate

I'd tend towards
a tenebrionoid rather a ptilodactylid. It appears to have 5-5-4 tarsi and does not have the conspicuously lobed tarsi found in ptilodactylids.
