Sorry, I really wasn't looking at the clubbed antenna but those ferocious looking mandibles! What is that plate between the mandibles used for?

It was also very cooperative, ie, it allowed me to "handle" it (note that photo of it on my fingers). I don't mind admitting that it took some guts to coax it onto my fingers, not knowing if it might like to take a bite out of me. Just call me the "Insect Whisperer," I guess. ;>)
