Size: 3 mm
I know I'm supposed to recognize what this larva is, having seen it once before. It crawled out of a compost sample I collected out of a tree hole. It has the ability to evert an organ of some sort from its anterior end. Any thoughts?

Moved
Moved from Flies. Looks like Fannia. The image in the guide has larvae that look exactly like yours.

Wow, that's a new one for me.
Now I have to look for some adults. Thanks for identifying this!
