Automeris zephyria

Automeris zephyria
County, New Mexico, USA
June 19, 2008
Size: 3.0CM
Here is a Automeris zephyria caterpillar which I have been raising on an apple tree in my back yard. The ova came from New Mexico. This guy hatched on the 10 July 2008, and of the 11 ova that hatched only two could be found when I looked in the sleeve today. This guy is 3 CM long the other one is only 1.5 CM.

I'm guessing
that June 19 is the date the eggs were found? I'm also curious if you have a more precise location as to where found (near what town)?

I will move to guide
- you can post them directly to species level when the ID is not in question.

Is the date in this wrong (June 19)? It doesn't fit with your comment.

Automeris zephyria
I will post to sp. level when known from now on.
