I'm not sure what this critter is really. Maybe a wasp? Any help to ID it would be appreciated.

I think this is a fly that mimics wasps, but I can't tell you more than this.

Thanks for suggesting a fly, Bobby. I was thinking it must be a wasp or bee of some sort. I think I found it now. And I believe it is a Mydas fly (Mydas tibialis)
