Gyascutus carolinensis possibly
I sent this along to Rick Westcott awhile back. He said the photo lack enough detail but he thought it looked like G. carolinensis. He said "It is recorded from Texas, but San Antonio seems a bit far east for it. I gather the photo was taken of the bup sitting on juniper, and we used to beat them from that in S. California...though it is not the host!" I can relate to that...seen many Chrysobothris harrisi on Eastern Red Cedar in the late afternoon, but it is not the host.
Ted, Chuck, Dennis any of you guys have any comments on this bup?
