Himmelman's Plume Moth - Geina tenuidactylus

Size: 10mm
I've never seen a moth like this before. I think it's a moth. I thought it a fly until I got it on the big screen, and I see what I think are hindwings - but they look like feathers - and at the 'thorns' on the legs... too cool.

...and a Fantastik Foto! Bruce. Before my mothing days I got the most severe case of chigger bites out in one of those Forest District Prairies. Spray your socks!

Plume Moth
Apparently these are hard to ID. Here's a Plate from the MPG website that's worth looking at. Several look like yours...I'm not experienced enough to choose.
