weevil - Conotrachelus juglandis

weevil - Conotrachelus juglandis
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
August 3, 2008
Size: 4mm

Moved from Conotrachelus.

C. juglandis is a possibility
[but just that]

How about C. elegans?
That's the closest I can find in this website.

i like it, too, as a suspect :-]

lean towards juglandis
now that i'm more informed (all MCZ types & D&A desc'ns seen/read at least a dozen times), it's juglandis vs iowensis; the size and perhaps the pattern fit the latter best, but its range doesn't seem to embrace New England, so i suggest placing it in juglandis along with 190344, 144079, and maybe 20753..........

So
I guess it should stay on the genus page for now.

That looks to be right. Thanks for the help Brad.

Conotrachelus
I think. Haven't looked at weevils recently so they aren't fresh in my mind.
