Rivellia (FL)
All other eastern platystomatids look very different.

Platystomatidae.
Family should turn out to be Platystomatidae (picture-winged flies), but I don't know the genus or species. Great shot, though!

Thanks Eric. Platystomatidae looks right. This fly looks similar to all the pictures there but not enough for me to put it in a specific genus.
