sure
by the way, it's a male. You can tell by those huge antennae with all the fronds.

I've noticed all these moths
I've noticed all these moths since moving to Blaine where I have a Sodium light on at night. I'm learning about a whole world of moths I never knew existed - it's a facinating subject!

welcome...
to a new obsession! I now have purchased a fancy new camera (that I'm completely impaired with using!!--oy!) and some expensive mercury vapor lamps just to attract all the little pretties to my home for me to take their portraits. -Nina

I'd love to get a good camera
I'd love to get a good camera to photograph these beautiful creatures... Christmas seems so far away! Thanks for all the assist on identification. Regards,
Peter

U bet
I waited almost 2 years to splurge on myself, saving my $$ from teaching college classes at night. I ended up getting a Canon Rebel XTi DSLR camera, along with 2 lenses--one Canon general use lens, and a Tamron macro lens. I also got an inexpensive but full sized tripod to help me take photos without my shakey hands. The mercury vapor lamp was actually pretty inexpensive compared to some I've seen-I got mine at a pet store that specializes in reptiles--the heating and light lamps for reptiles are mercury vapor-based, and give off both uva and uvb to attract a variety of night creatures that fly. -Nina
