Large Green Caterpillar? - Antheraea polyphemus

Large Green Caterpillar? - Antheraea polyphemus
Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota, USA
August 8, 2008
Size: 2.5"-3"
I have searched 50 pages of images. I can't find this. This is a large green caterpillar. I believe it was on a wild willow shrub. It is about 2.5"-3" long and about 1/2"-3/4" wide. The only thing that I could find that was similar was a Luna moth. I don't think they are present this far north.

Thanks
Michelle

Polyphemus moth, I believe
see guide and compare below:

There are actually Lunas as far north as MN though - see data map.

Very nice shot!
