Moved
Moved from Stenolemus. A key covering 3 of 4 species in genus (see genus guide page) plus range statements and description in Slater (1), indicate that all the photos we have to date are of Stenolemus lanipes. Thus I am moving all images assigned at the genus level to the new guide page.

Great images!

.....
Ok, that's it, I'm coming to Virginia....
Are you trying to give me a stroke? ....I think you are...

:-D

Come on over!
I'll let you try out the lens!

....
Don't make me hurt you....

All seriousness aside....
Your pics are getting better and better with each new image!

Very awesome pictures!!
....and I'm very jealous.

One of these days though....

Thanks Sam...
The MP-E 65 takes some getting used to and I feel like there is still room for improvement. I'm using this setup hand held because most of the time these bugs won't stay still. This bug surprised me though. It hung around long enough for me to fire off some 60 odd images before I released it.

When you get this lens, practice and patience will yield great rewards.

Take care!

Hand held? Stop rubbing it in!
I can hardly pick up my D80 with 180mm Sigma macro, let alone hold it steady enough to get close-ups like this.

It's a pretty heavy rig...
But I think it makes for a steadier aim!
