Stumped - Tyria jacobaeae

Stumped - Tyria jacobaeae
Cape Breton, Cape Breton County, Nova Scotia, Canada
August 2, 2008
I thought I knew my caterpillars but this one has me stumped. I'm guessing it's a moth, maybe a grapeleaf variety. But as my daddy used to tell me, "When you don't know, you just don't know." Somebody help rectify this. Thanks

Looks like grapeleaf skeletonizer
I think you're right. Harrisina america looks pretty much the same.
The plant looks wrong (should be grape or virginia creeper) but maybe it is looking for a place to pupate.

What about
Tyria jacobaeae - Cinnabar Moth in the guide here? But we thought this was a northern fella. Was this really in Alabama?

Nova Scotia
I thought my friend found it in Mobile, Alabama. She saw it in Cape Breton, Novia Scotia. I edited to reflect location. No wonder I could not find it in Wagner's "Caterpillars of Eastern North America."
