Bellamira scalaris ? at Gathering_2008 - Bellamira scalaris
Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Sevier County, Tennessee, USA
August 9, 2008
At first I thought this one wasn't in Doug Yanega's book, but then I noticed Bellamira scalaris, where the description says markings are variable. Other features seem to match. ID comments appreciated.

Location
I'm trying to pin down locations. If this is the same as:

Then the location is given as:

"Appalachian Trail from Indian Gap (side heading down toward Newfound Gap) on Clingmans Dome Road."

Yes, we both photographed
the same beetle. We had parked at Indian Gap for lunch and walked out and up the Appalachian Trail.

That's the same one we came up with
when we looked at our image. So are we both right or both wrong??
