Cimbicid on Tree Trunk, Gathering_2008 - Trichiosoma triangulum
Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Swain County, North Carolina, USA
August 9, 2008
Eric was kind enough to give me the family on this one.

Moved
Moved from Trichiosoma.

Trichiosoma triangulum Kirby
Second record for GSMNP. In my list of sawflies from the park (234 species), I had only one specimen of this.

Thanks
Thanks very much, Dave, it's great to add a species name to this one.

Location
Hi Stephen, do you have a more detailed location for this one? Thanks!

Newfound Gap
I answered Mike by email, but then decided it would be better to include the additional info on this BugGuide page. This photo was taken at Newfound Gap on the North Carolina side of the line. (Thanks Mike for supplying the location name based on my lengthy description of the place!)

Data
Hi Stephen, I just wanted to note that I went ahead and updated the location data for this photo.

Thanks
Moved from Cimbicid Sawflies.

Thanks, Eric!

Trichiosoma sp.
Nice image. This is a species of Trichiosoma, but not sure which one.
