We stared at a Google Map
and came to the conclusion (yet to be formally confirmed) that Clingman's Dome is on the state line and the parking lot and the trails we were on are actually in North Carolina. Wait for further word!

Cool....I'd never been to North Carolina before :)
I'll wait for David's GPS info and then edit accordingly.

This is an adult cicadellid leafhopper (row of spines on outer edge of hind tibia). You can place it in Cicadellidae, or hold out for Andy Hamilton:-)
