Southern Bee Killer - Mallophora fautrix

Southern Bee Killer - Mallophora fautrix
Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
August 8, 2008
I've seen these around for the last two or three years, but never knew what it was. After a lot of research, I think it is the Southern Killer Bee. This shot was taken in my front yard on a desert mesa.

Moved
Moved from Bee Killers.

Well I don't
know how many species are common to the South but it is Mallophora genus.
