Western Thornhopper - Enchenopa latipes - male - female

Western Thornhopper - Enchenopa latipes - Male Female
across the river from Finley Flats, Sanders County, Montana, USA
August 10, 2008
looks like they are mating. A brown treehopper.

Moved
Moved from Enchenopa rugosa.

Doesn't seem like they could mate in that position.
Must be some precursor? Beautiful image!

Campylenchia rugosa
"Brown buffalo treehopper" seems an odd name for a bug with only one horn. Personally, I call this the western thornhopper (the eastern one being C. latipes). Other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks
I just made that up. I guess I should have said brown treehopper instead of buffalo treehopper. I have treehopper and buffalo treehopper joined in my brain. :)

true
maybe it's bug piggy-backing. :)
