Critter - Galerita

Critter - Galerita
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
August 13, 2008
Size: 13mm (1/2") (body)
I was giving my dogs fresh water. I turned their water trough over to dump out the dirty water and this thing was underneath. The dirt was not wet. This critter was a fairly fast mover, which is why I had to capture it to get any kind of decent pics. I released it when I was through.
Are those stingers or just ovipositers? Why two?
Check out the mandibles. Looks like if you're an insect this guy could definitely leave a mark.

Please help with ID.

Moved

Hmm...
you asked: "Are those stingers or just ovipositers?"

I hate to Mr. Obvious but the quickest way to find out is by picking it up. :-)

I'll write to you tonight about those toads, Sam. Sorry for the delay!

....
No problem.

And no, I didn't....and won't....pick it up, thank you very much....

Carabid Larva
This is a Carabid larva, genus Galerita. There are some other pics of larvae in the guide. The "stingers" are cerci; they're covered with sensory hairs.

The two things on the end
seem like the segmented tarsi on male crickets... I'll be interested to see what this is... never seen anything like it...
