Size: 1 inch
This unidentified caterpillar is on flowering Yerba Mansa on th edge of a marsh on the Ballona Wetlands.

Not 100% sure, but compare yellow-striped armyworm
here in guide.

Thanks Hannah, looks like a match for Spodoptera ornithogalli. Actually in case it is a western variety it would be Spodoptera praefica but I'll just call it Spodoptera sp because I really don't know any better.
