Munching on a rather ripe looking salal flower.
ID, Ellychnia hatchi according to Haggard and Haggard, Insects of the Pacific Northwest, p 71. The Haggards say "There are a number of species in this genus, and one needs to use the identification key in Fender (1970) to identify them."
