Neoxabea bipunctata mating pair - Neoxabea bipunctata - male - female

Neoxabea bipunctata mating pair - Neoxabea bipunctata - Male Female
Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin, USA
August 16, 2008
I believe the spermatophore is visible here -- on the female. They were suspended for a minimum of 1 hour. He sang intermittently. She fed from his metanotal glands. These are both Two-spotted Tree Crickets I had collected as instars, raised indoors until adulthood, and then released them onto a grape plant on my patio.
