Strange insect. - Acanthocephala

We have an adult (or do we just have another stage in the nymph's life?). The largest of these lovelies has matured and was close by once again while nymphs of various size crawled the same plant on which I photographed the others linked to this image. It looks like an assassin to me, but I have yet to find it in my books.

another bug entirely - this is a nymph in the genus Acanthocephala. Should be unlinked from your other bugs, which are something different. To do so, unlink all and then tag and relink (in the order in which you posted them) the other ones that are of the same species. I can do it for you if you run into any problems.

Got it. Sorry. I have much to learn. Every time I think I'm starting to figure something out, I find out I'm way off again. It is great to have all the folks that watch this site so closely keeping it accurate and informative. If it were up to people like me, it would be pretty useless!!! Thanks!!!! I'll check back and see if I can find an adult of one of my strange nymphs. The same plant has been crawling with those things for quite a while now. They are of various sizes, and are often found together, like in my pictures.

I often see those mixed groups with plant-feeding bugs
I have come to think of the older ones as babysitters. : )
