Looks like a female of this species. Also looks like she was trying to play "ring around the stem" with you? Sort of an annoying habit that many hoppers have when you try and get a nice flattering picture of them. Reminds me of my son, always trying to dodge the camera.

you are right. Although these aren't nearly annoying as katydids and children. :)
