Assassin Bug with Prey - Pselliopus

Assassin Bug with Prey - Pselliopus
Missouri, USA
I believe this is some type of Assassin Bug with it's Prey. I watched him snatch the fly and ran inside to get my setup. Not sure what specifically what type of bug.

Cropping, frames
You should crop your images more tightly so more detail shows. Remember that only you and editors can see the full size images. Also, the instructions say that "for the sake of consistency" there should be no frames.
It looks like an assassin bug with a halictid bee.

Thanks...I was already told about the frames and all of my more recent uploads have been w/o frames. I can't really crop much tighter since it will loose detail rather than gain detail. Until I get a new lens, this is a close as I can get to these size bugs.

Cropping vs. resizing
Your image is 800 px on the larger side, so you could crop it to 560 px without loss of detail (it isn't much but it helps). You would only loose detail if you resized it to 560 px which is what Bugguide does automatically anyway. Others can't see the full size picture so some detail is lost to them automatically.
