Sarcophaga? - Graphomya - female

Sarcophaga? - Graphomya - Female

Is this of the genus Sarcophaga? I believe it is a female due to the wide-spaced eyes.

Muscidae
In the genus Graphomyia!
Greetings

Not Sarcophaga, nor a flesh fly
Check the thorax for a quick weeder. According to the info page on flesh flies, thorax has "3 black racing stripes on a gray background".

For ID to genus on flies, you'll likely need a view above to show body pattern, a shot to show wing veins, a side view and, in some cases, a face shot and a rear view. And of course, a very, very cooperative fly!

If you can get only one angle, you did just fine!

I also think this is a female due to the eyes. This works on many, but not all, flies.
