Fly - Scathophaga stercoraria

Fly - Scathophaga stercoraria
Mt. Washington, New Hampshire, USA
June 21, 2005
Size: 8mm
Is this a dung fly?

Yes
It sure looks like a Golden Dung fly Scathophaga stercoraria to me . I am pretty sure it is at least genus Scathophaga.

Looks good
Thanks for the confirmation Matthew. What I thought was odd is this fly was half way up Mt. Washington.
