Canada Darner? - Aeshna canadensis - male

Canada Darner? - Aeshna canadensis - Male
Pittsfield State Forest, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA
August 17, 2008
Male Canada Darner?

I accidentally brushed its wing taking a closeup and it didn't mind.

Funny how after not having any pictures of a Darner I got two in one day. I guess they prefer the habitat in the Berkshires. (The other I posted was about 60 miles south of this one.)

agreed
Definitely male and I think it looks good for the Canada Darner.
Nice to have such a co-operative individual! If only they were all that way.
