Michaux's Saxifrage
Clingmans Dome, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Swain County, North Carolina, USA
August 9, 2008
This was on the trail below the parking lot--it could be, technically, in Tennessee.
I spent quite a bit of time dealing with the flowers jumping around in the wind, and finally got one or two I liked. This was taken with a flash, which was the only way to stop the wind shake, short of building an enclosure.

More of my photos from the swarm will be posted to a Flickr set as I get time to edit them.

NC
I'm pretty sure everything at Clingman's dome is in NC until you get to the top of the mountain and head down the other side. Great shot under the circumstances.
