Pepsis Tarantula Hawk? - Pepsis
Fountain, Colorado, El Paso County, Colorado, USA
August 20, 2008
Size: large - abt 1"
This one is large - about 1" not counting antennae. Also, colorful. After looking through your guide, I think this is genus Pepsis (Tarantula Hawks)?

Moved
Moved from Spider Wasps. Not all Pepsis specimens are huge. I've seen adult males about this size.
