Size: 20 mm approx
Midnight-blue all over including pronotum and top of head; appeared to be seeking nectar or pollen, not aphids. The plant is Narrow-leaf Milkweed, Asclepius fascicularis. This plant also had a Monarch caterpillar (http://www.pbase.com/inaturalist/image/101949770) and several Eastern Milkweed Bugs (http://www.pbase.com/inaturalist/image/92365544).
