I noticed that these were move to the subspecies page (Tachypompilus ferrugineus ferrugineus), is that correct?

Thanks for pointing this out, John
Guess I got a little over zealous. I'll bump it back up one level.

subspecies
this is T. f. ferrugineus.

Well....then I'll bump it back into the subspecies :)
I'm interested to know if this wasp purposely hunts above the antlion 'dens'....do you happen to know if this is part of their hunting strategy. Also, what is it that you noticed on the photos that specifically puts it into the subspecies? Thanks for your ID. This info will be forwarded to the Seven Islands Reserve -- they are trying to expand their species list, and I don't know if they already have this included on their list.
