Large Beetle in Maryland - ID? - Cotinis nitida

Size: ~3/4"
This sluggish large beetle was on my deck. I'm not sure if he was sick or injured, but he was moving VERY slowly. Any help with ID?

I thought it looked familiar,
I thought it looked familiar, but it seemed too large to be June Beetle. Are there larger and smaller sub-species?

Okay, here is where I have Q's
I knew it was a green June Beetle, but had no idea, they have more than one kind?? Whats the difference between the two? I just did a search for green June Beetles, then posted a link....

So I would LOVE to know how these are separated and the differences if you don't mind explaining? My yard is crawling with them, and I love learning new things!

Range
There are a number of species in North America, but in the Eastern U.S. C. nitida is the only one present. C. mutabilis is more southwestern. More information is here. Try using the different tabs {taxonomy, info, browse, data, etc.).

I agree, Green June Beetle. They are one of my favorites. I actually photographed 3 at once this year in my lawn, 2 were trying to mate with the 3rd at the same time. Eventually 1 won out.
