My sister and mom found this cricket in their motel room on a trip to SE AZ. Is this a kind of cricket?

Not cricket.
This is a longhorned woodboring beetle, family Cerambycidae, family Lamiinae. Not sure which genus or species, but a female (long, stick-like ovipositor. Her antennae are folded close to her body. Nice find.

Never would have guessed it, although not ever seeing this one live might have thrown me off - at least that's my excuse for now! :) This is probably frass, but I'll see if any of the other beetle experts can ID it further or want to keep it.
