Dolomedes species ? - Dolomedes scriptus
Lake Gaston , Warren County, North Carolina, USA

I'm assuming this is a Dolomedes species as it was on a rock " Fishing" . I have not been able to get it to species level from any of the Guide's photos.

Moved from Fishing Spiders.

Probably D. scriptus
Yes, you are correct that it is a Fishing Spider (Dolomedes). The prominent markings on the abdomen suggest that it is Dolomedes scriptus. Judging by its light coloration and - I'm assuming - small size, it is likely an immature specimen.

D.scriptus
Thanks for the ID . The photo must be deceptive as it was quite large. Paul
