Is this an Allograpta obliqua? It's the closes thing I could find on BugGuide. It was resting on expired Fleabane. Thanks.

Yes; good ID.
While oblique marking is quite clear in this view, whenever possible, get a shot from above when syrphids are your subject.

Allograpta obliqua
Thanks for the id, I did have a dorsal shot of the fly but didn't post it. I will now just for reference (the last segment of the abdomen in curled under).
