Tiny Carabid - Polyderis laeva

Tiny Carabid - Polyderis laeva
Medford, (~25 miles east of Philadelphia, PA) Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
June 12, 2008
Size: ~1.6mm
this is one of the smallest, if not the smallest ground beetle I've yet found. From the large submentum pits on the underside, I'm guessing it belongs somewhere in Bembidiini?

came to UV light

Moved - Thanks,
and a little embarrassing, considering I IDed for someone else the first BG images of this species :(

fyi, MCZ and Nearctica have it as P. laevum, but ITIS has it as P. laevis.

Moved from Bembidiini.

hmmmmm... now that i took a look at other BGuide images...
...assigned to P. laevis i see that only your last pics belong to P. laevis while the rest seem to represent some other species

Polyderis laevum
